About the position 

A 3-year full-time Postdoc position (SKO1352) in Experimental Systems Immunology is available at the Department of Immunology, Institute of Clinical Medicine, The Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo (UiO).

The position is available from August 2025 with a flexible start between August and October 2025. The position will be located the laboratory of Dr. Victor Greiff (Lab for Computational and Systems Immunology, greifflab.org). The main purpose of the fellowship is to qualify researchers for work in higher academic positions within their disciplines. The position is internally funded. 

The candidate will develop experimental and computational approaches to profiling antibody-antigen binding at large-scale.

The Greiff Lab focuses on the quantitative understanding of adaptive immune receptor (antibody and T-cell receptor) specificity using high-throughput experimental and computational immunology combined with machine learning. 

The long-term aim is to conceive in-silico novel immunodiagnostics and immunotherapeutics using the disease-diagnostic information and therapeutic potential that is directly encoded into adaptive immune receptors. 

The duration of the appointment is 3 years.

Qualification requirements

• Applicants must hold a PhD in biology, immunology, biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, molecular biology, experimental systems biology, or a related field. Prior knowledge of biology or immunology is a requirement. The doctoral dissertation must be submitted for evaluation by the closing date. Appointment is dependent on the approval of the public defense of the doctoral thesis.
• Good written and oral proficiency in English and Norwegian (or another Scandinavian language). If the employee cannot document skills in Norwegian, Swedish, or Danish at level A2 upon employment, UiO will offer Norwegian language training. The employee must complete training equivalent to at least 15 credits by the end of the employment period.
• Experience in experimental and computational mass spectrometry methods is an advantage.
• Experience in the preparation of bulk and single-cell BCR libraries is an advantage.
• Molecular biology experience is an advantage. This includes the design of DNA constructs with relevant software, gene cloning, propagation of plasmids in bacteria, plasmid preparation, gene expression, and PCR.
• Experience in techniques for screening plasmid libraries, such as phage display and yeast display is an advantage.
• Coding abilities in R/Python are an advantage.
• The candidate will work in a very ambitious interdisciplinary setting, which will require high flexibility, the ability to work under pressure, and the ability to work independently.
• Fluent oral and written communication skills in English.
