We are looking for an SFO (Childcare) leader.
The position is permanent and part-time (from 30% up to 84%).
SFO in BISS Sentrum has approximately 50 children and 3-4 assistants.

• SFO administration 30%
• Afternoon SFO 54% - working hours during term time (38 weeks) 07:15 - 08:45 plus 14:45 - 16:45, four days a week and 07:45 - 08:45 plus 13:45 - 16:45 one day a week (18.5 hours); and, during school holiday SFO (6 weeks) 08:00 -16:00 five days a week (40 hours).
• Morning SFO 40% - working hours during term time (38 weeks) 14:45 - 16:45 four days a week and 13:45 - 16:45 one day a week (11 hours); and, during school holiday SFO (6 weeks) 08:00 -16:00 five days a week. (40 hours).

In addition to the 30% administration position, the SFO leader must work morning and/or afternoon SFO, plus holidays. The final arrangement will be discussed with the successful candidate.
This is a permanent position, available from June 2025.

The SFO Leader is responsible for the day to day running of SFO, and reports to the school Principal.
We reserve the right to interview and appoint candidates before the closing date. 

Responsibilities

The SFO leader will:

• Manage the SFO team - including creating and maintaining work schedules, recruiting SFO staff, managing sick leave etc.
• Manage administration of SFO - including allocation of places, documentation and email communication with parents.
• Managing the SFO budget - planning and managing the finances of the SFO, including funds for materials and activities and applications for external funding, .
• Provide pedagogical leadership for the SFO programme - develop and implement activities that are engaging and tailored to the needs of the SFO children and their development. 
• Enable staff education and development - organise training sessions and meetings for the team to enhance their skills and knowledge in working with children.
• Communicate with parents, carers and external agencies regarding SFO children.
• Work collaboratively with all members of the SFO staff and Primary Department teachers to provide support for individual needs.
• Create a safe and friendly environment in SFO where children can freely grow and explore.
• Maintain and improve SFO resources to provide the widest possible range of SFO activities.
• Liaise with HR on personnel  and recruitment issues.
• Implement school policies and procedures - ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies regarding childcare.

Qualifications

• A relevant higher or university education is desirable.
• Management education and/or management experience.
• Experience working with young children.
• Experience working with children with special needs,
• Good English (minimum B2) and some Norwegian is preferred.
